Description	:	Ron was born January 29, 1947 in Billings, Montana, the first child of John and Lydia Schlecht. Ron passed away on September 5, 2020 at Parkview Care Center at the age of 73. Ron was raised east of Billings and attended Shepherd School until being critically injured in a car accident. He suffered a brain injury and doctors doubted that he would survive. Not only did he survive, but he went on to work a steady job at the Northern Hotel for 45 yrs. Sadly time took its toll and he went to assisted living. Ron married... Read More	Ron was born January 29, 1947 in Billings, Montana, the first child of John and Lydia Schlecht. Ron passed away on September 5, 2020 at Parkview Care Center at the age of 73. Ron was raised east of Billings and attended Shepherd School until being critically injured in a car accident. He suffered a brain injury and doctors doubted that he would survive. Not only did he survive, but he went on to work a steady job at the Northern Hotel for 45 yrs. Sadly time took its toll and he went to assisted living. Ron married Lois Roberts in 1980 and they were together until her death in 2017. Ron was also a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Ron taught us all how to deal with adversity and difficult times. His toughness and will to survive gave us all hope. He will be sorely missed especially by his nephew Matt and his sister-in-law Jody who was by his side when he passed. WE LOVE YOU BRO! Ron was preceded in death by our parents, little sister Linda and wife Lois. He is survived by his sister Irene (Michael) Lester of Des Moines, WA; brother Wayne Schlecht of Billings, MT; nephews Dan Lester of Tacoma, WA; Josh Schlecht of Whitefish, MT; Matt Schlecht of Billings; niece Linda (Steve) Ponce of Billings; grand-nephew Dillian Peltier and grand-niece Laura Ponce. Special thanks to Parkview Care Center and Stillwater Hospice for their wonderful care of our brother in his final days, Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at a later date with an internment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations can be made to Special K Ranch, Montana Rescue Mission, or the charity of your choice.
