Description	:	Ronald Joseph Engstler, 79, died at his home in Lake Mills, Iowa, on Friday, January 27, 2017. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Saint James Catholic Church, 906 W O Street in Forest City with Father James Dubert officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street in Lake Mills and again at the church one hour prior to the service. Cremation will follow the service with inurnment at a later date. Ronald Joseph Engstler was born July 11, 1937 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Alfred Stephen and Rose (Dankbar) Engstler. Ron farmed for many years and later worked at Winnebago Industries and in the Value Added Center with 3M in Forest City, IA. Ron loved farming and feeding cattle. He was known for driving around to check out the crops. He was an avid story teller, enjoyed visiting with people, having coffee with friends, and spending time at the casino playing $5 slots. He loved fishing and hanging out at the library reading papers to stay up on current events. He loved his dog Keisha who went everywhere with him. You could find him attending area community celebrations hanging out with his buddies. He enjoyed spending time with his partner, Ila Peterson, for over fifteen years. His memory is cherished by his siblings, Charlene East, June (Homer) Van Oort, and Russell (Monita) Engstler, all of Garner, IA; Duane (Mary Lou) Engstler of Britt, IA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and his dog (best friend) Keisha just four months ago.
