Description	:	Ronald L. Stedman 82, of Strawberry Lane in Schoharie passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 15th at his home under the loving care of his family. Ron was born January 3, 1940 in New London, CT where he later graduated from high school. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps where he served as a helicopter and other aircraft mechanics. Read More	Ronald L. Stedman 82, of Strawberry Lane in Schoharie passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 15th at his home under the loving care of his family. Ron was born January 3, 1940 in New London, CT where he later graduated from high school. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps where he served as a helicopter and other aircraft mechanics. While serving, he was part of the Marine Corps golf team, traveling the world playing golf with officers. He served overseas including the Bay of Pigs and after 9 years, he earned an honorable discharge. Following his discharge, he spent time as a sheriff's deputy, owned and operated a general store in Alabama before moving to upstate New York. He lived in the Charleston area and joined the Charleston Volunteer Fire Department and drove truck for the Golub Corp. until retiring. He would later start his own trucking company as owner/operator as well as operating 5-Star Lawncare with his wife, Marion after returning to Alabama. Ron also enjoyed gardening, playing golf, woodworking, camping, and spending time with family and friends. He was married to Marion (Petty) Stedman until her death on January 10, 2019. Survivors include; his children; Jamie (Marty) Pierce of Schoharie, Kimberly (William) Carter of Century, FL and Lawrence Keith Stedman of Flomaton, AL, 8 grandchildren, 9 greatgrandchildren, his brother Harold Stedman, his half-brother Roger Stedman, both of Rhode Island along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother George and his nephew Kevin Stedman. Burial will be in Rays Chapel Cemetery in Century, FL.
