He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Gladys Ferguson; brother, Marshall; and son-in-law, Tom Elias. Ronald was born June 30, 1933, the son of Glenn and Gladys (Owens) Ferguson, in Urbana, Iowa. He served with the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. On April 17, 1955, Ronald was united in marriage to Janis Knaack at St. John's Lutheran Church in Newhall, Iowa. He worked at Sanitation Laboratories and worked as a supervisor for 20 years at FMC, retiring in 1985. Ronald also worked at Rockwell Goss. He was a member of the Legion Post 264 in Urbana and had served on the Benton County Conservation Board. A real outdoorsman, Ronald enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing, gardening, working on his acreage and baseball. He will also be remembered for his family famous salsa and deer jerky that he enjoyed making. His greatest love was spending time with his family and taking his grandchildren fishing.
