Description	:	Ronald Lee Davidson, son of Mae Sophia Masear Davidson and William Donald Davidson, was born January 28, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa. Ron died at the Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa on May 3, 2017 with his family by his side, at the age of 69 years. Read More	Ronald Lee Davidson, son of Mae Sophia Masear Davidson and William Donald Davidson, was born January 28, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa. Ron died at the Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa on May 3, 2017 with his family by his side, at the age of 69 years. Ron grew up in Gowrie, Iowa until he was nine years old when the family moved to Boone, Iowa. He graduated from Boone High School in 1967. After high school Ron went to work for Quinn's Foundry in Boone until he was drafted in to the United States Army in 1968. Ron was stationed in Korea until he was Honorably Discharged in April of 1969. After returning from the Army, Ron went back to work at Quinn's Foundry. On, September 21, 1974, Ron was united in marriage to Barbara Herrig at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone, Iowa. They were the proud parents of one daughter Amy. They made their home in Boone, Iowa. Ron continued to work at Quinn's later moved up to the Core Room where he worked until retiring in 2013. Ron had a real love of sports, especially football, basketball and baseball. He was like a sports encyclopedia and very knowledgeable about sports facts. Growing up he loved to play basketball on the dirt court that he had built on the farm. He also enjoyed playing golf with his grandkids, and pool with all his buddies. He had a love for cars, could always tell a good joke and was very patriotic. He especially loved to spend time with his family. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and his father-in-law, Fredrick Herrig. He is survived by his wife Barb Davidson of Boone, IA; daughter, Amy Davidson (fiancé Joseph Sapp) of Boone, IA; 3 grandchildren, Emilee, Kailee and Noah Davidson; 2 great grandchildren, Brooklyn Wilder and Aleah Davidson; siblings: William (Janie) Davidson of Boone, IA, Jerry (Joy) Davidson of Kansas City, Missouri, and Delight Davidson of Boone, IA, Mother -in-law Laura Herrig of Boone, IA, sister -in-law, Judy (William) Haberman of Marathon, IA; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
