Read More	RONALD MASON CHAMBERLAIN Ronald Mason Chamberlain was born August 26, 1953 in Denver, Colorado to Bernadel and Arthur Mason Chamberlain, Jr. Ron's untimely passed away December 17, 2009 at the Wray Community District Hospital. Ron grew up in Wray, attending the Wray schools. He played football, basketball and ran track throughout high school. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, where he remained a member throughout his life. Ron worked for Marvin Renzelman throughout high school and after he graduated in 1972, he continued working for their family until he had the opportunity to start his own operation. On April 4, 1975, Ron married the love of his life, Dixie (Hughey) at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Wray, CO. Ron and Dixie moved south of Idalia in 1984 to the Hughey family farm, where they resided until his unexpected death. He started working for TSI out of Brighton in 1991 as a lineman and then began working for Y-W Electric in June of 1995 as a lineman, where he enjoyed his work along with his coworkers each day. Ron loved nothing more than his wonderful, growing family. His wife, Dixie, fell in love with Ron for his sincerity, charm and teddy bear kind of love; the qualities that Ron unconditionally displayed until his last day. They loved to spend any spare time enjoying each other's company on their farm, enjoying each holiday and spending every available moment spreading their love to their family and friends. He was the most compassionate and proud father to his four children and never missed an event in their life. Recently, Ron was blessed with three grandchildren whom he adored and spoiled. He dedicated much of his life to his community and never knew a stranger. Ron enjoyed spending time riding his motorcycle, waterskiing, following Idalia and Wray's sporting events, trapshooting, being a 4-H leader, cooking, grilling, wild cow milking, playing softball with the boys from Vernon, the 3rd of July activities in Idalia and loving his animals. Ron dedicated his time spending countless hours serving on many community boards such as the East Yuma County RJ-2 School District and the Idalia School Board, in which he played an instrumental role on the deconsolidation of Wray and Idalia school district. For many years he served on the Rural Fire Protection District board where he was an active member of the Idalia Fire Department, the Premier Farm Credit Nominating board, the Homestead Memorial board and Idalia FFA's Ag Advisory board. Ron is survived by his wife, Dixie of 34 years and daughter Ashley; son Mason, wife Corie and five month old grandson Kace; Son Tyler, wife Kylie and nine month old granddaughter Hayley; daughter Angela, Husband James and seven month old grandson, Jaden; mother Bernadel Fisher; sister Debra Stull and family; sister Carmen Hochevar, husband Brian and family and brother Kelly. He was preceded in death by sister Jody Chamberlain; father Arthur Mason Chamberlain, Jr.; step-father Jack Fisher; grandparents Paul and Emma Gartin and Harry and Celia Hughey. A rosary service was held December 20 at Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home in Wray. Funeral mass was conducted December 21 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Wray with Father Jonathan Drillinger officiating. Interment followed the services at the Grandview Cemetery in Wray. Memorial contributions may be given to the Idalia or Wray Fire Department.
