Pat was born March 17, 1923, In Lake Williams, ND, the son of Robert and Gladys (Immel) Harding. He served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant under General Patton in Germany and Europe during WWII. Pat married Alberta Lou Vining on March 8, 1947, in Altoona, Iowa. For many years Pat worked as a commercial and residential contractor and contributed to the development of Iowa City and the surrounding areas, He was a member of First Christian Church, the Iowa City Homebuilders Association, and was a 32nd degree Mason. Pat enjoyed playing cards, watching sports and anything to do with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He simply loved being "Dad & Grandpa" His family includes his wife of over 67 years, Alberta; their children, Ron (Mary) Harding Jr. of Chandler, AZ; Robert Harding of Coralville; Richard Harding of Waimea, Kauai; Suzanne (John) Galea of Terre Haute, IN, and Cathleen (Art) Chapman of Lone Tree, IA; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
