Private family burial will be at noon Monday at Oakridge Cemetery in Dannebrog. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church Family Center in Dannebrog. The Rev. Rob Pearson will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church. Jacobsen Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Jackson was born on April 19, 1927, at Cairo to Glen and Ada (Thayer) Jackson. He moved with his family to Rockville, where he started school. The family moved to the Dannebrog area, where he attended Bethel District 59 School. He graduated from Dannebrog High School in 1944. He entered the U.S. Army in 1945 and served with the Army of occupation in Germany and Austria. Upon his discharge in 1947, he worked for Howard County as a patrol operator. He married Mary Anderson on June 1, 1949, in Colorado Springs, Colo. With the exception of two years in Dannebrog and three years in Cairo, they lived on a farm in the Cleveland Precinct. He was self-employed as an earth-moving contractor from 1963 until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed horses and raising cattle. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dannebrog and Mickelsen-Larkowski American Legion Post 241 of Dannebrog. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Rachel (Mrs. Galen) Fast of Leadville, Colo., Debbie (Mrs. David) Breeden of Hays, Kan., and Ronda (Mrs. Brian) Jackson of Aurora, Colo.; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Virgil of Parachute, Colo., and Wayne of Bellevue.
