Read More	GUTHRIE COUNTY VEDETTE, Panora, Iowa, Thursday, August 24, 2017, Vol. 152, No.34, Page 3, Columns 5 & 6 Obituary Ronald Wayne Perrigo 1935 - 2017 Ronald Wayne Perrigo, age 82, left this world and went to be with his Savior on Saturday morning, August 18, 2017. Ronald was born in Dallas County, rural Linden, June 14, 1935, to Wayne C. Perrigo and Freda M. (Snyder) Perrigo. Ronald lived his whole life in the same section of Lincoln township. Ronald attended county school in his early years, then Linden High School, where he graduated in 1953. In March 1955 he and his high school sweetheart, Shirley Melton, were married in Linden, and… they lived and farmed on the family farm. In 1958 Ronald enlisted in the National Guard where he served 6 years, taking his training in Missouri and active duty in Colorado. He was a life-long attendee and active member of the Shiloh Bible Church until it closed in 2010. In 1964, Cinda Lynn was born, in 1967 David Wayne, and in 1968 Dennis Paul. In 1968 the family purchased and moved across the section to the farm where they reside today. Ronald never "retired" from farming. Until his health no longer allowed, he was actively engaged in farming with sons, David and Dennis. He and grandson, Joseph, loved being in the combine together. He liked working in the shop on machinery, especially the combines. He enjoyed traveling, visiting most of the National Parks in the west; when the kids were young, hauling everyone in the old station wagon over impossible roads meant for 4-wheel drive vehicles, and getting hung up in creek beds. But in all trips, they couldn’t be longer than 10 days. Ronald dearly loved his family. Having them close by was a great comfort and blessing.His four grandchildren were his joy and he was very proud of each one. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Cinda and his only sibling, Helen Little. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 62 years, his children,David and wife Dani, their son Joseph; Dennis and his wife Cindy, their children Sarah (Perrigo) Buscher and husband Zach, Dodge and Gage; nieces and nephews. Many friends will miss his sense of humor and willingness to help. His favorite sayings were "You can’t get it done standing here looking at it" and "Come on, we can go one more round." Last Saturday he went his last round. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Twigg Funeral Home, Panora. Burial will be in the Prairie Center Cemetery rural Linden. Visitation will be Monday, August 21, 2017 from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
