Leiting, 78, of South Sioux City, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Ronnie was born the son of Elmer and Dorothy (Griffith) Leiting on April 11, 1943 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Randolph High School and attended Sioux City Barber College in 1965. Ronnie married Marilyn Fonder in 1965. They enjoyed many years together until her passing in 2001. Ronnie has been a local business owner since 1971. He owned and operated The Headhunters barbershop. He was very passionate about his work and the relationships he formed with his clients over the years. The center of his life was his family and his grandchildren. He enjoyed going to and cheering for his grandchildren at all their sporting events. He was an avid Husker fan. He enjoyed bowling, Keno, and playing pool. He was a volunteer firefighter for 35 years and a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He also was very patriotic and proud to have served his country in the United States Army Reserve. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to Siouxland Freedom Park or Trinity Heights Queen of Peace. Ronnie is survived by his longtime partner, Diane Boyd-Wittrock of South Sioux City; children, Joel Leiting of Sioux City and Brian (Molly) Leiting of South Sioux City; siblings, Mary Leiting Simmons of Council Bluffs, Richard (Linda) Leiting of Louisville, Kentucky, and Lynn (Shannon) Leiting of Gretna; beloved Papa to, Bailee, Alexa, Spencer, Lucas, Trevor, Elle, Kate, and Faith; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful furry companion, Candle.
