Description	:	ROSA RITNOUR Funeral services for Rosa Elizabeth Ritnour were held Saturday, April 21, at the Methodist Church in Nodaway, conducted by Rev. Don Gilbert. Mrs.Ritnour died very suddenly April 18, 1956 at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Ellen Graham. Singing at the funeral was by Mr. and Mrs. Elmer West, accompanied by Mrs. Ruth Johnson. Casket bearers were Roy Young, Melvin Young, Roy Gammel, Dale Gammell, Don Gammell, and Leonard Bergren, and Miss. Edith Miller and Mrs. LaVerna Ridnour had charge of the flowers. Rosa Elizabeth Ann Young, daughter of Elijah and Sarah Young was born April 20, 1878 in Adams County, Ohio and was one of ten children, seven of whom preceded her in death. One sister, Mrs. Mannie Kenney of South Gate, California and one brother, John Young of Des Moines survive, also 7 grandchildren, one granddaughter and one great granddaughter. She was united in marriage to Jacob Ritnour and four children were born to this union. Ravena who died in infancy, Floyd of Corning, Edith of Clarinda, and Lloyd who died in 1942. She is one of Iowa’s pioneers, and when a girl she went with her parents in a covered wagon from Iowa to Washington and returned a few years later by train. All her married life was spent on a farm in Adams County and she with her husband moved to Nodaway only a short while before he died in 1949. She married Jacob Cerick Ritnour on September 10, 1910 in Red Oak, Iowa. To them were born four known children, Revena Hattie who died February 7, 1902, Edith Sarah, Floyd Franklin, and Loid Charles. We would like to take this means to thank our relatives, neighbors, and friends for their many kind deeds and expression of sympathy at the time of the death of our mother, Mrs. Rosa Ritnour.
