Interment will be on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner, NE and will continue on Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Rosa passed away on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Wisner Care Center. Rosa (Hinrich) Bennett was born October 16, 1914 to Gustav Carl Hinrich and Emily (Miller) Hinrich at Wakefield, NE, where she graduated from High School in 1933. She was baptized and confirmed in the First Presbyterian Church in Wakefield, NE and after graduation moved with her parents to Pender, NE. On March 6, 1936, she married Ferris Dewayne Bennett at Wayne, NE. They farmed for many years near Pender, in Iowa and Wisner. She was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, rural Pender, Salem Lutheran at Dakota City, and finally Christ Lutheran Church at Wisner. She sang in the choir, was a Sunday School teacher, served on the Altar Guild and belonged to the women's circle of ELCA. She loved to play cards and belonged to several card clubs; and was active at the Wisner Senior Citizens Center. Rosa worked as a grocery clerk many years then became a clerk at Younker's Department Store in Sioux City, IA and also worked at Olsen's Knit Nook in Sioux City. Survivors include-2 sons-Bernard and wife Lorna Bennett of Paullina, IA, Larry and wife Linda Bennett of Rotonda, FL; daughter-Viola and husband Melvin Schroeder of Wisner, NE; daughter-in-law-Vivian Bennett of North Platte, NE; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; brother-Gus and wife Bertha Hinrich of California; sisters-Elsie Jepsen of Emerson, NE, Stella Limerick of Sioux City, IA, and Lucy Suhr of Auburn, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Ferris, son-William, four brothers, and three sisters.
