Description	:	Rosa Giesman Rosa Giesmann, 90 years of age, of Adams, Nebraska, formerly of Sterling, Nebraska died at the Goldcrest Retirement Center in Adams on Sunday morning December 26, 2004. She was born September 25, 1914 at rural Auburn, Nebraska and was baptized and confirmed at the the St. John Lutheran (Stone church) Church of rural Auburn. She attended Shurtleff Country School District #74 of rural Auburn and then worked as a seamstress at a sewing factory in Auburn for several years. She was born September 25, 1914 at rural Auburn, Nebraska and was baptized and confirmed at the the St. John Lutheran (Stone church) Church of rural Auburn. She attended Shurtleff Country School District #74 of rural Auburn and then worked as a seamstress at a sewing factory in Auburn for several years. She married Arnold Giesmann in 1953 at Auburn and they lived and farmed near Sterling until retiring and moving into Sterling in 1980. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Sterling and was a member of the quilting group. She was an accomplished seamstress and also enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She was also a member of the Sterling Sunshine Extension Club. Survivors include one son, Kendall Giesmann and his wife Beth of Waverly, Iowa. Step-son Merwin Giesmann, and his wife Lynne of Lake Sherwood, Missouri.Three grandchildren, Neil Giesmann of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Bryce Giesmann of Clear Lake, Iowa and Mark Giesmann of Waverly, Iowa. Three sisters-in-law, Irene Schulte and her husband Orval of Syracuse, Nebraska, Annetta Giesmann of Sterling, Nebraska and Eleanor Gerdes of Auburn, Nebraska. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Anna Tuxhorn Gerdes, husband Arnold who died January 10, 1997, one step-son, Roger Giesmann, three brothers, Herbert, Herman and Edwin Gerdes and three sisters, Helen Kuper, Lilly Caspers and Lenora Hogrefe Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at 11:00 A.M.at the St. John Lutheran Church of Sterling, Nebraska with Pastor Stanley Floth officiating. Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the St. John Lutheran Church with Shannon and Erma Hazen in charge. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 A.M. in the fellowship hall of the church. The body will lie in state at the Zink-Fox Funeral Home until 8:00 P.M. Monday and then at the church one hour preceding the services on Tuesday. The family will meet and greet friends at the Zink-Fox Funeral Home of Sterling on Monday from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. A guestbook for signatures and messages of condolence is also available online at www.foxfuneralhome.net. Zink-Fox Funeral Home of Sterling in charge of arrangements.
