Mrs. Prevette was born in Wilkes County, October 28, 1920, to Grover Cleveland and Mary Jane Sidden Pendry. She graduated from Mountain View High School in 1937 and Appalachian State Teachers College in 1941. Mrs. Prevette was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Ruth Prevette in 1994. Mrs. Prevette is survived by one daughter, Jane Prevette Ward and her husband, Rick of Hays; one son, Captain Henry Slater Prevette, Jr. and his wife, Sue of Annapolis, MD; one sister, Dovie Brown of Hays; three grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery.
