Universal expressions of deep regret followed the announcement of the death of Roscoe Harrison at 5 o'clock Monday afternoon. He had been in the Sioux Valley hospital for eleven days following an operation for acute appendicitis. For several days his condition was very critical, and then there seemed to be an improvement and hope revived that he might yet recover. He had been given every attention and advantage possible to medical skill and careful nursing. He himself was cheerful and confident of recovery, but suddenly and without warning there came a sinking spell, and within a few minutes he had passed away. He was a young man of promise and had already achieved success. He was born at Washta, Iowa, November 25, 1888, and was a son of late George W. and Mrs. Elma F. Harrison. He was a graduate of Cherokee High School, and later from Iowa State College at Ames, where he made a splendid record. Following his graduation he was engaged in field work for the extension department of the State Agricultural College, and last year was elected as field representative of the Iowa State Beef Producers Association. In this latter capacity he had been very successful and his work was praised highly by the officers of the association. He traveled throughout the state interesting boys in the feeding of cattle and always found great satisfaction in their success and never lost an opportunity to be of help to them. He is survived by his mother, three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Episcopal Church at 10 o'clock this morning, the sermon being by Rev. F.S. Jory. Interment will be in Grand Meadow Cemetery.
