Read More	The Arlington News Thursday 20 May 1943 ROSE (MOSER) CANINE Rose Ann Moser Canine was born April 29,1892, near Osterdock, Clayton County, Iowa. She spent her girlhood on the farm of her parents, Kathryn and Jacob Moser. On November 15, 1916, Rose was united in marriage to Richard Canine. They made their home on various farms where he worked as a hired hand. To their union two children were born, one daughter who passed away in infancy and Maxine of Arlington. Eight years ago, when her husband's health failed, the family moved to Arlingotn, Iowa. About a year later, Mr. Canine passed away. Since that time she has made a home in Arlington for her daughter, Maxine, her sister, Juanita Moser, a nephew Donald Derr and her two brother-in-laws, James and John Canine. She was a real mother to all of them, sacrificing and serving in every way she could. In May of 1939, she and her daughter Maxine became members of our congregation in Arlington through baptism and confirmation. As recently as this Easter season she reaffirmed her faith in Christ as her Savior by attending Holy Communion. During the past winter, in spite of failing health, she worked in various homes in and around Arlington. Last Monday she was stricken severely. Toward evening she entered a coma from which God called her to himself the following evening about eleven o'clock. Her sudden death was a shock to the entire community. She leaves to mourn her departure the members of her household, her daughter Maxine, Juanita, her sister, Donald Derr, her nephew for whom she has cared since the death of his parents, James and John Canine, all of Carlington, Iowa; one sister, Caroline Baldridge of Manchester, Iowa and two brothers, Edward and Albert Moser of Strawberry Point, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Annie Poor, of Wadena, Iowa, besides other relatives and countless friends. Many a family of Arlington will miss the service and help that Mother Canine so willingly gave. Funeral services were held May 13, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lutheran chuch, Roald Braulick officiating. Interment was made in Taylorsville cemetery.
