Description	:	On Tuesday, June 4, 1918, Rose Keller, daughter of Nicholas and Bertha Keller was united in marriage to Basil Edward McNulty at the regular 7:45 morning Mass at St Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour, Indiana, with Father C.J. Read More	On Tuesday, June 4, 1918, Rose Keller, daughter of Nicholas and Bertha Keller was united in marriage to Basil Edward McNulty at the regular 7:45 morning Mass at St Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour, Indiana, with Father C.J. Conrad officiating. Their romance started most unusually. Rose Keller was an employee of Reliance Company, which manufactured garments. One day, while working, she took a card, wrote her name and address upon it, then pinned the card to the collar of a shirt. That shirt was purchased at a Minnesota clothing store by Basil McNulty, who was working in the state at the time. "Just for the fun of it," Basil McNulty said, he decided to write Rose Keller. What followed was two years of continued correspondence between the two. They finally met shortly before Christmas 1917, when Basil traveled to Seymour to become acquainted with Rose Keller. Rose's mother recognized Basil McNulty from photographs that he'd sent along with previous correspondence. When Rose came home from work, she could not at first believe that Basil McNulty was truly in Seymour. She was finally convinced when he presented her with the card with her name and address written upon it in her own handwriting. A wedding breakfast was held at the home of the bride's mother on South Vine Street. Mr and Mrs McNulty were scheduled to travel on Friday, June, 7, 1918 to Estherville, Iowa, where he is employed as a brakeman for the Rock Island railroad. From the 1920, 1930 and 1940 Federal censuses, they not only lived in Estherville, IA; but also Baker, IA; Duel County, SD; and Western Union, IA. They had five sons and two daughters. One son died during the Korean conflict. Basil McNulty was employed in the railroad industry.
