Description	:	Rose D. "Peggy" Zimmerman Hill, 93, died Dec. 7, 2009 after a brief illness. She was born in Amazonia, Mo. on Sept. 4, 1916 to Herbert and Bessie Zimmerman. She spent her early years growing up in Omaha, Neb. and attended Park College in Kansas City, Kan. After marrying Henry Sawyers Zimmerman, they lived in Maryville, Mo., where her two sons were born. In 1960 the family moved to Starkville, Mississippi where she worked at Mississippi State University. "Peggy" Zimmerman Hill, 93, died Dec. 7, 2009 after a brief illness. She was born in Amazonia, Mo. on Sept. 4, 1916 to Herbert and Bessie Zimmerman. She spent her early years growing up in Omaha, Neb. and attended Park College in Kansas City, Kan. After marrying Henry Sawyers Zimmerman, they lived in Maryville, Mo., where her two sons were born. In 1960 the family moved to Starkville, Mississippi where she worked at Mississippi State University. After retiring she moved to Tupelo, Mississippi, where she was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Later she married Ben J. Hill. GG was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family and friends. During her lifetime, she was active in church activities, 4-H Club work, Soroptimist International and Women's clubs. Survivors include a son: Loren Ray Zimmerman and his wife, Lynn, Starksville, Miss.; a brother, James Zimmerman, Onalaska, Wis.; two grandsons: Paul Scott (Sykes) Zimmerman and Joel Echols (Suzy) Zimmerman; five great-grandchildren: Gatlin, Sarah Bailey, Henry, Loren and Zac. Peggy was Preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Sawyers Zimmerman and Ben J. Hill, a son: James Edward Zimmerman and her parents. Graveside services will be held at Miriam Cemetery in Maryville, at 1:30 pm pn Saturday, July 3, 2010.
