Description	:	The Dunlap Reporter September 12, 2003 Rose Gibbs was born April 15, 1911 near Dunlap, the daughter of Albert and Mathilda (Sinjen) Doidge. She married Basil Gibbs on December 26, 1934 at Charter Oak. The couple farmed near Soldier for many years and retired in Dunlap in 1970. Basil died February 12, 1984. Rose continued to live in her home until June of 2003. She died Friday, August 29, 2003 in Dunlap at the age of 92 years, 4 months and 15 days. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ute. Those survivors left to cherish Rose's memory include son-in-law and daughter, Roger and Marilyn McDole of Soldier, daughter, Edith Kruger of Savage, Minn., and daughter, Ruby Larson of Omaha, Neb.; 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen DeLance of Dunlap; one brother, Harvey Doidge of Denver, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mathilda; two sons, Raymond and Russell; two brothers, Louie and John, and four sisters, Gertie, Hattie, Nellie and Linda. Memorials may be directed to the Methodist Church in Ute or the Dunlap Rescue Unit. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, September 2, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Ute with Pastor Ken Baughman officiating. Message in music was by Joyce Hanson as organist and Becky Marcum as soloist. Selections included "The Old Rugged Cross," "Let There Be Peace In The Valley," and "In The Garden." Interment was made at St. Clair Cemetery at Ute. Pallbearers were grandsons, Doug McDole, Brad Nickolisen, Ronald Larson, Jr., Larry Larson, Jeff Kruger, Gary Leaders. Prayer service was held Monday evening, September 1, 2003 at 7 p.m. at Armstrong Chapel in Ute.
