In this vicinity she received her grade school education. She also attended Leverage Normal School in Muscatine; later she taught in the rural schools in the vicinity of Illinois City. March 21, 1894, she was united in marriage to Sydney E. Robison of Gilman, Iowa. For 45 years she lived with him, a faithful companion, a loyal mother, a farmer's wife. In 1914, she and her husband moved to Fayette county, making their home first near Randalia, and later near Maynard. In 1937, they retired from farming and moved to town. Death came to her early Sunday Morning, Oct. 22, 1939, after a brief illness deepened by the grief in the loss of her son, Wayne, six months before. The suddenness of her death was a shock to the community. Surviving her are her husband, Sydney E. Robison, her daughter, Mrs. Mildred Robison Walker, and grandchildren, Willis and Phyllis of Fayette, Iowa; one brother, Charles Sedam, of Luverne, Minn.; and two sisters, Mrs. Will Fowler and Mrs. Fred Kelly of Hillsdale, Ill. Her two sons and a sister, Mrs. Grove Rood, preceded her in death. She was active as a Christian worker. Her deep Christian character, her sincerity in daily living, her loyalty in work, will remain in the memory of the many friends who knew and loved her. Her spirit lives on. Our memories will treasure her ideals of loyalty to her home--of hospitality to her neighbors and of faithfulness to her church and to her God. The funeral was held yesterday forenoon, at Maynard, conducted by Dr. V.C. Welch and Rev. C.L. Oelfke. The body was taken to Gilman for burial. Transcribed and added by Mary Hammill Rund 30 Oct 2019
