Description	:	Rose Dirksen, 96, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003. Rose M. (DeNeui) Dirksen was born on a farm near Chancellor, Nov. 4, 1906, the daughter of John D. and Annie (Dreesman) DeNeui. She attended Home Township Rural School and grew to womanhood there. On Feb. 23, 1928 she was united in marriage to Tebbo Dirksen at Canton. Read More	Rose Dirksen, 96, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003. Rose M. (DeNeui) Dirksen was born on a farm near Chancellor, Nov. 4, 1906, the daughter of John D. and Annie (Dreesman) DeNeui. She attended Home Township Rural School and grew to womanhood there. On Feb. 23, 1928 she was united in marriage to Tebbo Dirksen at Canton. Following their marriage they farmed south of Wall Lake for eight years and then east of Wall Lake for 44 years. In 1980 they retired and moved to Lennox. Her husband preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 1987, ending a marriage of over 59 years. She continued to make her home in Lennox and became a resident of the Lennox Good Samaritan Center on Jan. 30, 1992. She was baptized in the Reformed faith and had attended Community Reformed Church in Sioux Falls. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her father on May 16, 1963, her mother on Sept. 26, 1984; two sisters: Ruth Geiken and Lillian Jacobs; two brothers: David 'Bud" DeNeui and Louis DeNeui. Surviving are her sister, Berdena Meier of Chancellor; her brother, Edward DeNeui and his wife, Lois, of Lennox; her sister-in-law, Anna DeNeui of Chancellor; several nieces and nephews; grand and great-grandnieces and nephews, including a special niece, Marge Stepp and a special great-grandnephew, Austin Nelson. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 27 at Dindot-Klusmann Chapel in Lennox. Burial was in the Lennox Cemetery.
