Description	:	Obituary published in Manchester Press on Thursday, May 15, 1952 Mrs. Rose DeSotel passed away at the age of 74 years at the Sheppard home at Oelwein, Iowa, on May 10, 1952. Rose Mae, daughter of the late John and Laura Harbaugh, was born Oct. 15, 1877 at Osterdock in Clayton county, Iowa, where she spent her childhood. Rose Mae, daughter of the late John and Laura Harbaugh, was born Oct. 15, 1877 at Osterdock in Clayton county, Iowa, where she spent her childhood. As a child, she was baptized in the United Brethren church. She received her education in the rural schools near Colesburg. Rose Harbaugh and August DeSotel were married July 20, 1899. To this union four children were born: one daughter, Mrs. George (Elsie) Fleming of Oelwein, and three sons, Gilbert and Lorrell of Edgewood, and Howard of Elkport. Mrs. DeSotel spent all her life in Clayton, Delaware and Fayette counties and spent the past six years in Edgewood. She made her home with her son, Lorrell, after Mr. DeSotel passed away Sept. 11, 1927. She leaves to mourn her passing her four children, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one sisters, Mrs. Arthur Meyers of Edgewood, two brothers, Henry and Frank Harbaugh of Colesburg, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Rhines funeral home at Edgewood Tuesday, May 13, in charge of Rev.
