Description	:	Rose Marie Gaskill, age 74, of 622 Cedar Street, died Friday, January 12, 2007, at the Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stratford. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Steven McLoud and Rev. Steven Brodersen officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rose was born in Boone on May 23, 1932, the daughter of Raymond and Mary (Wheelock) Fisher. She graduated from Grand Community School in Pilot Mound in 1950 and the St. Anthony Nursing School in Carroll, in 1953. On June 16, 1956, she married Gayle Gaskill in Boone. The couple later divorced. She was a registered nurse at the Boone County Hospital for more than 25 years. Rose was a member of the Sacred Heart Choir. She enjoyed reading, working in her yard, jigsaw puzzles, playing the organ and piano, studying genealogy, and cats and dogs. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Raymond "Junior" Fisher, and a nephew, George Fisher. Rose is survived by two sons, Raymond Gaskill and wife, Annette, and Gerald "Gary" Gaskill and wife, Teresa, all of Boone; a daughter, Lois McRoberts of Churdan; two brothers, Gerald "Jerry" Fisher and wife, Helen of Ogden and John Fisher and wife, Pauline of Pilot Mound; two sisters, Joanne Fields of Hialeah, Florida, and Patricia Anderson and husband, Dennis of Davenport; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Friends may call at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets on Tuesday from noon until 9:00 p.m. where a Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m. and the family will be present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Visitation continues Wednesday at the funeral chapel from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.
