Read More	Mrs. Rose-Marie Baucom Phifer passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 3, 2021 at Atrium - Union Hospital in Monroe. Rose-Marie was born June 7,1960 in Union County, NC to the late Clarence and Mildred Baucom. Rose, known to many as "Rosie" or "Mama Rose" approached everyone with a smile and a hug. She lived out everyday through her faith in Jesus and shared his love with countless others throughout her years serving at the Union County Sheriffs Office. Rose retired September 2020 where she spent the last year living her life to the fullest with countless beach trips with her loving husband of 27 years, Jeff Phifer. Rose is preceded in death by her sister Joyce Boswell. She is leaving a legacy with her girls Brittany (Emerson) Bivens of Wingate, NC and Autumn (Chase) Hamilton of Marshville, NC. Grandchildren Maddox Bivens, Emorie Bivens and Beauen Hamilton. Rose also leaves behind her Brother Wayne (Gail) Baucom of Wingate, NC, Janice (Rick) Eury of Monroe, NC and Brother in Law Benny Boswell of Monroe, NC as well as many nieces and nephews. A public viewing will be held from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Holland Funeral Service & Crematory. Rose will be laid to rest following a private graveside service at Lakeland Memorial Park. In Lieu of Flowers the family request all donations go to Ground 40 Ministries in Monroe. Rose would want everyone to know about Jesus and his Grace, Mercy and Love and she lived each day trying to make Jesus Proud. ********************* She is survived by her Husband Jeff Phifer Daughters Autumn Rose Rollins Hamilton Brittany Marie Rollins Bivens ***************** It is with a heavy heart that Sheriff Cathey announces the sudden passing of a former Union County Sheriff's Office employee, Mrs. Rose Phifer. Rose Phifer dedicated 38 years of her life to the service of others in Union County, NC. Rose worked for the Union County Clerk of Courts Office for 11 years. She then spent her last 27 years working in the administrative division of the UCSO before retiring approximately one year ago. Rose Phifer was known by many names to those who knew and worked with her such as "Rosie" and "Mama Rose". Rose impacted the life of every employee at the UCSO in a positive way and earned these affectionate nick names due to her uncanny ability to bring a smile to the face of everyone she interacted with. Rose Phifer's genuine kindness and affection is a quality rarely duplicated in today's world and she will be greatly missed. The UCSO would like to extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of Rose Phifer to include her husband Jeff, her daughters, Autumn and Brittany, and her cherished grandchildren. Sheriff Cathey added "Rose Phifer was more than just an employee, she was part of our family. Her absence will be felt by many, and impossible to fill.
