Description	:	Rose Mary Goetz was born December 29, 1923 to Anton and Elenora (Heier) Ochs. She passed away August 25, 2017 at Trego Lemke Memorial Hospital in Wakeeney at the age of 93. Rose Mary was born in rural Park, KS where she lived all her life. She attended school through 8th grade. In 2015,... Read More	Rose Mary Goetz was born December 29, 1923 to Anton and Elenora (Heier) Ochs. She passed away August 25, 2017 at Trego Lemke Memorial Hospital in Wakeeney at the age of 93. Rose Mary was born in rural Park, KS where she lived all her life. She attended school through 8th grade. On February 12, 1946, she was united in marriage to Leo Joseph Goetz at the Sacred Heart Church in Park where they remained faithful members. In 2008, her husband passed and she moved to Grainfield. In 2015, she moved to the Logan Co. Manor due to health issues. Rosie was a homemaker and worked by her husband’s side on the farm as they raised their 8 children. She loved the farm life, which included stacking bales, milking cows, raising chickens, butchering, making noodles, gardening & canning She was proud to have a cellar full of food which showed her labor of love as a farmwife and mother. She also enjoyed making quilts & sewing. You could find her hand made sewing projects at craft shows in the area. When her children and grandchildren came to join in butchering, noodle making, or helping with a craft project, she had a huge smile and so proud to share her talents with them to carry on family traditions. Rosie was very active in the Sacred Heart Church and Altar Society. She organized a group of ladies to serve a meal for the local AA’s on special occasions, helped with many funeral and Annual Father’s Day dinners. She is survived by five daughters, Rowena (Duane) Zook of Salina, Elaine (Rick) Craft of Sedan, Janet (late Larry) Farmer of Oakley, Ellen (Ron) Eberle of Grainfield, and Eileen (Don) Hockersmith of Oklahoma City, OK; three sons, Albert (Kay) Goetz of Park, Edward (Denice) Goetz of Grainfield, Dean (Renae) Goetz of Hill City; Eighteen grandchildren, Loren Zook, Bruce Zook, Mollie Schell, Eric Craft, Sue Wendelbo, Diane Farmer-Hoeb, Terry Farmer, Brian Eberle, Kim Rumback, Mason Hockersmith, Ryan Hockersmith, Doug Goetz, David Goetz, Tyler Goetz, Tiffany Flieg, Trisha Bengston, Sara Bernhardt, and Marcus Goetz; Eighteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Rosie is also survived by two brothers Leo Ochs, Quinter and Billy Ochs, Park. She is preceded in death by her husband Leo; Son-in-law Larry Farmer; 3 brothers John, Pete & Stephen Ochs, 3 sisters Susanna Zerr, Anna Mary Zerr, & Esther Tanguay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Park. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, from 5 to 7 with a parish vigil to follow at 7 p.m. Both will be at the funeral home in Quinter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Sacred Heart Church Cemetery Fund, Trego Hospital Endowment Foundation, or Masses.
