Rose died Thursday, August 8, 2013, at the Butte Health Care Center, Butte, Nebraska. Rose was the third of ten children. She grew to womanhood on the family farm northeast of Spencer, attending rural grade school, and graduating in 1939 from Spencer High School. Rose died Thursday, August 8, 2013, at the Butte Health Care Center, Butte, Nebraska. Rose was the third of ten children. She grew to womanhood on the family farm northeast of Spencer, attending rural grade school, and graduating in 1939 from Spencer High School. Rose worked at home and in Dubuque, Iowa, until her marriage. Rose married Leo Ohri on October 22, 1940. They resided on the Ohri homestead northeast of Spencer until moving to Longmont, Colorado in 1951 for a short time. Rose and Leo returned to Spencer in 1952, relocating to the farm they called home for the next 26 years. They retired to Spencer in 1978. Rose and Leo had eight children, five boys and three girls: Andy (Donna) deceased in 2011; Rose Mary; Paul (Janet); Linda (Carl Wirth); Leonard (Cindy); Rex; Melvin (Camille); and Nyla (Philip Cork). She was blessed with 21 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Leo (1984); eight brothers and sisters; son Andy; and grandchildren Megan and John. She is survived by her seven children; 40 grandchildren; her sister, Maxine Koll; brother-in-law, Emil Tejral; sisters-in-law, Ruth McAllister and Darlene McAllister; and many nieces and nephews. Rose did her nurse's assistant training and worked for a short while at the Butte Nursing Home, until joining Niobrara Valley Hospital in Lynch where she worked from 1975 until 1999. Rose provided loving care to the many patients she served. Rose was a faithful member of St. Mary's Church in Spencer, the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, and the Rosary group. She also volunteered at the Spencer Senior Center. For many years she participated in and often led the rosary at the Butte Healthcare Center. Rose was a passionate member of the farming profession her whole life, also feeding her family from the farm's food animals and garden. Rose prepared many wonderful meals for her family and food donations for community events. She took great pleasure in nurturing the many infants born to the family. Rose enjoyed playing cards and other games with family and friends. In her later years, Rose was blessed to take many bus tours with her daughter Rose Mary, throughout the United States and to Canada. A highlight of her travels was her trip, with her sister Maxine and Rose Mary, to Europe in the 2000 Millennium year. There, they saw the Passion Play at Oberammergau, Germany, visited Assisi, and attended an audience with Pope John Paul II in Rome. Burial was in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Spencer, Nebraska.
