Mrs. Erdmann was born on Aug. 13, 1896, at Stephan, S. D., the daughter of Simon and Barbara (Holnstiner) Kusser. She was raised in the Stephan area and attended rural schools near Stephan. She moved to Le Mars as a young woman. She married John B. Erdmann on Nov. 26, 1923, at Le Mars. They lived in Le Mars all all their lives, where he was a self-employed contractor. Mr. Erdmann died on March 20, 1987. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church In Le Mars, and a member of the Christian Mother's Society. She enjoyed cards, especially pitch. Survivors include a son and his wife, Bernard and Arlene of Le Mars; six daughters, Rosemary Robinette and her husband, Arnie, of Le Mars, Elizabeth "Betty" Erdmann of Le Mars, Sister Rosalie Erdmann, S. L. W., of Sioux City, Marcella Nemmers and her husband, Marvin, of Le Mars, Marie Schmitz of Le Mars, and Pat Kohlhoff and her husband, Paul, of Round Rock, Texas; 27 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Werdel of Highmore, S. D.; and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gordon Schmitz; a granddaughter, Theresa Nemmers; two great-granddaughters, Infant Anthony and Samantha Jo Erdmann; and 13 brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be six grandsons, Michael Erdmann, Tom Schmitz, Doug Nemmers, Robert Brownell, John Robinette and Jim Schmitz. The Sioux City Journal, June 27, 1999
