Mrs. Hershberger retired in 1981 from the Mennonite Publishing House, Scottdale, Pa., after 32 years. She had also worked at the Lima Woolen Mills, Shook-Mosier Laundry and Siferd-Hosselman Co., prior to moving to Scottdale, Pa., in 1948. She was a member of Salem Mennonite Church, Elida. She volunteered at the Etc. Shop, Bluffton. She and her husbands were concerned about and committed to serving the underprivileged of their community. She enjoyed reading, word finds and playing games, especially Scrabble. She won several trophies in Scrabble tournaments with journalists, writers and publishers where she had worked. She returned to the Elida area in 1989. Survivors include a stepson, David (Linda) Hershberger, of Moore, S.C.; three stepdaughters, Priscilla (Omar) Helmuth, of Elkhart, Ind., Debbie (David) Chupp, of Wooster, and Rachel Hershberger, of Harrisonburg, Va.; two sisters, Alverta (Laverne) Good, of Leo, Ind., and Nettie Burtchin, of Lima; two brothers, Albert (Jane) Good, of Lima, and LeRoy (Susie) Good, of Ontario; a sister-in-law, Mildred Good, of Lima; seven stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; 23 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Otis Good; a brother-in-law, Harry Burtchin; and three sisters-in-law, Alice, Bernadine and Georgia Good. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Salem Mennonite Church, Elida. The Rev. Mel Hathaway will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to building fund at Salem Mennonite Church.
