Description	:	Rosella M. "Sally" Kranz, 95, of Watertown, S. D., died Jan. 8, 2014 at Jenkins Living Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at 10:30 a.m., with visitation at 9:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church with Father Paul Rutten and Robert Krantz officiating. Music will be furnished by Marie Coon, the Immaculate Conception Funeral Choir and Danielle Holmquist-Holida as organist. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Watertown. Rosella was born October 12, 1918 to William P. and Anna (Lindner) Cordell on her family farm north of Watertown. She attended Immaculate Conception grade school and graduated from Watertown High School in 1937. She attended Notre Dame Junior College in Mitchell, S.D. and taught in two rural Codington County schools. On June 15, 1942, she married Wilfred D. Kranz at Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown. They lived on a farm near Kranzburg, S.D. where she was a homemaker and member of Holy Rosary Church, Kranzburg, and its Altar Society. Rosella was a long-time substitute teacher at Holy Rosary Catholic School and volunteer for the Benedictine sisters who taught there. She also was a long-time Kranzburg Township election superintendent and volunteer for Democratic candidates. Rosella was active as a 4-H leader and volunteer for the Watertown Winter Farm Show. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting and other crafts, including making wedding flowers for 15 years. After moving to Watertown, she became a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She volunteered for nearly 15 years for Caring Sunday, a 4-H club for adults with special needs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred, in 1988; her parents and one brother, Willard Cordell. Rosella is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Colleen) Kranz of Golden, Colo., and David Kranz of Watertown; two daughters, Roxana (Mark) Benjamin of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Cynthia (Doug Hladky) Kranz of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren, Bradley Kranz of Woodbury, Minn., Katie (Kranz) Todd of Golden, Colo., Jodie Kranz of Denver, Colo., Aaron Benjamin of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Joshua Benjamin of Plymouth, Minn., and Lindsey Hladky of Cincinnati, Ohio; and four great-grandchildren.
