Rosie was born March 15, 1928 on the family farm near Hildreth in Franklin County, Nebraska, the daughter of Ed and Tena (Mients) Stratman. Read More	Rosetta Adeline Nelson, of Funk, Nebraska, passed away on February 12, 2007 in Kearney, Nebraska. Rosie was born March 15, 1928 on the family farm near Hildreth in Franklin County, Nebraska, the daughter of Ed and Tena (Mients) Stratman. Rosetta was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Hildreth. She received her education at Hildreth, graduating from Hildreth High School with the class of 1946. On August 31, 1947 she was united in marriage to Philip H. Nelson and to this union three children were born: Dennis, Sandra and Clark. The family made their home on a farm north of Funk, where Rosie focused on raising their three children. Cherished highlights in Rosie's life included: celebrating 50 years of marriage in August of 1997 with many friends and relatives in attendance, the Pioneer Farm Family Award she and Philip received from Ak-Sar-Ben and the annual Stratman family dinner. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's special events, also enjoyed hosting family dinners and being involved in numerous social activities with her friends and farm neighbors. Rosie was an active member of the Bethel Lutheran Church and enjoyed the friendship bonds formed in the Merry Homemakers Extension Club. She leaves to mourn her passing two sons: Dennis Nelson and his wife, Marsha of Kearney, Nebraska, Clark Nelson and his wife, Shawna of Funk, Nebraska; one daughter, Sandra Schegg and her husband, John of Bloomington, Nebraska; eight grandchildren: Jodi Hinrichs and her husband, Robin of Axtell, Christina Heacock and her husband, Tom of Kearney, Kenton Schegg and his fiancé, Christy Hamilton of Seward, Carissa Crocker and her husband, Nathan of Kansas City, Kansas, Casey Nelson of Dallas, Texas, Whitney Nelson of Lincoln, Nebraska, Ceaver Nelson and Clayton Nelson both of Funk; one great-grandson, Zachary Hinrichs of Axtell; one half-sister, Emma Bartels of Alma, Nebraska; sisters-in-law: Ilene Stratman of Minden, Nebraska and Sophia Stratman of Holdrege; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Philip, three sisters and five brothers.
