Read More	El Dorado Times Posted Aug 23, 2011 @ 09:17 AM El Dorado, Kan. — Irene Macy, 71, of El Dorado, lost her battle with leukemia and went to be with the Lord, Monday, Aug. 15, 2011. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Aug. 27, at the Cassoday Cemetery. Irene was born on Aug 10, 1940 in El Dorado, the daughter of George and Cleo Welty. She graduated from Cassoday High School and then went to Wichita Business College. Irene was a homemaker until her children left high school and then she returned to working outside the home. Irene retired from Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Irene loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved fishing, working in her yard, decorating around the house, quilting, traveling, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed being a member of the El Dorado Senior Ambassadors. Those who survive are: mother, Cleo, and step-father Alvin Rohr of El Dorado; daughters, Rachelle Hildreth of El Dorado and Rhonda Macy; a brother, George and wife Adela of El Dorado; a brother, Richard Welty of Maize; step-sisters, Rose Rohr, Lila Mercer and Judy Rohr-George, all of El Dorado, and Juliann Rowland of Augusta; step-brothers, Elmer Rohr of El Dorado and Donald Rohr of Osborne; grandchildren, Erin, Alec and Derek Hildreth; and her faithful dog, Foxy. Her father, George Welty, Sr., and her brother, Victor Welty, preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in her memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society located at 300 N. Main Suite 300, Wichita, KS 67202.
