Description	:	Ardele Bass, 84, of Whitehall, Mich., formerly of Boone, Iowa and Fremont, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at Heartland Health Care in Whitehall due to congestive heart failure. Ardele Morris was born July 23, 1917, in Stratford, Iowa. She married Donald L. Bass Nov. 5, 1935, in Nashua, Iowa. She was raised in Stratford and Boone. Ardele Morris was born July 23, 1917, in Stratford, Iowa. She married Donald L. Bass Nov. 5, 1935, in Nashua, Iowa. She was raised in Stratford and Boone. She was a 1934 graduate of Boone High School. After her marriage, the couple lived in Boone until 1938. The couple lived in Belle Plaine, Rock Rapids, Odebolt, moved to Sac City in 1949 and in 1963 moved to Fremont. While living in Fremont, she owned and operated Ardele's Greenhouse and Flower Shop for 22 years before retiring in 1985. Her spouse preceded her in death in March 1967. She had been a resident of Heartland Health Care in Whitehall since August 2000. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of United Methodist Women Church Circle, National Council of Garden Clubs, Fremont First Garden Club, Fremont Professional Women's Organization, Home Culture Extension Club in Omaha and was very active in the Fremont Area Medical Center Auxiliary. Survivors include: two sons, Alden (and wife, Barbara) Bass of New Era, Mich., and Harlan (and wife, Viki) Bass of Salt Lake City; a brother, Donald E. (and wife, Paula) Morris of Moore, Okla.; three grandsons and a great-grandson. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone. The Rev. Fred Cressman will officiate. Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone. A memorial has been established to First United Methodist Church in Fremont. Fremont Tribune, January 16, 2002
