Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Ralph Stanley, 68, who died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday morning. She had prepared breakfast for the family at the home in Cameron township and was stricken shortly after the breakfast hour. She died at 9:15 a.m. The Rev. C. Mrs. Roxie Stanley, daughter of Franklin L. and Mary L. May, was born in Greeley township, Nov. 21, 1881, and spent her entire life in Audubon county. She was married to Ralph Stanley on Feb. 1, 1905, at her home in Greeley township. The couple had farmed at various locations in Audubon county since their marriage. MRS. STANLEY was a member of the Methodist church and had been active in the Ladies Aid Society of the Gray congregation. She taught rural schools in the county for four years prior to her marriage. Surviving are her husband, four sons, William, at home; Wyman, Panora, Ia.; Murlin, Wayne, both of Audubon. daughters, Mrs. Arlene Garnett, Cameron township; and Evelyn Stanley, Berkley, Calif.; brother, L.A. May, Audubon; sisters Mrs. Orin Colee, Hamlin, and Mrs. Homer Beers of Exira. a sister, Mrs. Frank Muerer of Exira, passed away recently. Mrs. Stanley's daughter, Evelyn, had gone to Portland, Oregon to spend the weekend when word of her mother's death reached her. She arrived in Omaha by plane Sunday, however, and was driven the rest of the distance to Audubon.
