Description	:	Roy Jr was fatally injured when a valve blew out on a cementing job he was working on, the last of a series of tragedies which took the lives of all of Roy's children. Read More	Roy Jr was fatally injured when a valve blew out on a cementing job he was working on, the last of a series of tragedies which took the lives of all of Roy's children. Jr. served in the Seabees & Navy for 16 years and had two tours of duty in Viet Nam. Roy Adams Jr, 40 of the Bluestem trailer court, Rt 4, El Dorado Kansas was fatally injured September 9 when a valve blew out at the sight of a cementing job he was working on. The accident occurred about 9:30 p.m. on the Albert oil lease three miles northwest of El Doarda. Adams, who was employed by the United Cementing and Acid Co was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Funeral services were held September 12 at the Dietz Colonial Chapel. The Rev Donald D McCracken, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated. Adams was born June 16, 1930 in Missouri. He was the son of the late Roy S Adams Sr and grew up in Doniphan. Following his discharge from the Navy Seabees, he married Jackie VanKirk-Bonham December 18, 1967 in Wichita. He had finished two tours of Vietnam in his 16-year career in the Navy. A member of the Fred Priestly Post #1174 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, he was also a member of the Capt Edgar Dale Post #81 of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Lutheran Church at Great Bend Surviving are his wife, two sons, Ronald and Randy Adams, one daughter Miss Brenda Adams, all of the home, one step-daughter Mrs Alan Watkins of 204 South Atchison and his mother Mrs Otis Goss of Hoisington (Kansas).
