Description	:	Roy Alvin Parker, Sr., son of Lafayette and Myre Jane Parker was born at Seneca, Kansas on Nov. 24, 1890 and died at his home near Bonaparte at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, March 13 at the age of 57 years. On April 6, 1912, he was united in marriage to Bertha Edna Gibbs of Bonaparte. To this union were born nine children, all of whom with the wife survive. Madison, Leda of Bonaparte, Esther, Louise and Edna at home; eight grandchildren; one brother, James, of Davenport; three sisters, Lila Pezlay of Montrose, Lillie Boyer and Edith Schlatter of Keokuk; and a large number of nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband and a kind father. He was of a cheerful position with a smile and happy greeting for his friends and will be sadly missed in the home and community where he had lived for many years. Services were held Wednesday, March 17, at 2:30 p.m. at the Bonaparte Baptist Church, with the Rev. E. Skoglund officiating. Burial in Bonaparte cemetery.
