A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Fairview Memorial Park in Albemarle with the Rev. Bill Baldwin and the Rev. Bryan Wright officiating. Full Military Honors will be rendered by the Stanly County DAV ritual team. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Stanly Funeral Home. Born on August 12, 1921 in Stanly County Mr. Still was the son of the late William Allen Still and Lillie Thompson Still. He was a graduate of Albemarle High School and was a retired employee of Still Oil Company. Mr. Still was a charter member of Second Street Presbyterian Church and a Veteran of the US Army during WWII. In his retirement he enjoyed visiting nursing homes and for many years called Bingo at the nursing homes. He was married to the late Rubye Anderson Still who preceded him in death April 28, 1999. Survivors include a son Roy C. "Scooter" Still Jr. of Albemarle, daughters Kathy S. McAlister of Clinton, SC, and Starr S. Wagoner and husband Gary of Badin, sisters Blanche Blalock of King's Mountain, Cherry Lawrence of Albemarle, and Betty Lou Harrington of Albemarle, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
