Mr. Reed was born Jan. 22, 1941, in Stanley, and was a son of the late Roy Lee Reed and Myrtle Mae (Cubbage) Reed. Read More	Roy Denzle Reed, 68, of Stanley, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, at the Winchester Medical Center. Mr. Reed was born Jan. 22, 1941, in Stanley, and was a son of the late Roy Lee Reed and Myrtle Mae (Cubbage) Reed. He was a successful businessman, starting in 1970 with his brother, Kenzy, opening Reeds Tire in Stanley. Soon to follow, he opened Reeds Tire in Elkton. In 1992, he opened DR's Quick Stop and in 1994, the Carwash as well as DR's Paint and Hardware, DR's Mini Storage and several real estate businesses. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of Stanley United Methodist Church. On Aug. 9, 1965, he married Sandra Kay Comer, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sheila K. (Reed) McKay and son-in-law, James McKay, of Stanley; grandchildren, Denzle Jarrett McKay, Jacob Austin McKay, Joel Thomas McKay and Jenna Elizabeth McKay, all of Stanley; daughter, Karen L. (Reed) Hilliard and son-in-law, Anthony Hilliard, of Stanley; grandchildren, Emily Nicole Reed and Grace Cathleen Reed Hilliard of Stanley; the son he never had, Gary R. Breeden of Stanley; three brothers, Kenzy W. Reed of Stanley, Kenneth A. Reed of Bunnell, Fla., and Truman L. Reed of Luray; and a sister, Nellie Lee (Reed) Shifflett of Shenandoah. Doug Gochenour and the Rev. Sam Jones will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at Stanley Baptist Church. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray with military honors by the VFW Comer-Jones Post 621. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Bradley Funeral Home in Luray.
