(Bowman) Towle. He graduated from Somerset Academy in 1950 and was a self-employed woodsman for many years. Roy married Beatrice on Dec. 26, 1988, in Emden. She died NOv. 21, 1996. Towle, 84, passed away June 28, 2016, at his home in Cornville with his family by his side. He was born May 31, 1932, in Cornville, the son of Leon M. and Mildred S. (Bowman) Towle. He graduated from Somerset Academy in 1950 and was a self-employed woodsman for many years. Roy married Beatrice on Dec. 26, 1988, in Emden. She died NOv. 21, 1996. He was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge. Roy was a member of the American Legion Post 192 and past Commander. He spent countless hours at the American Legion. Roy also loved gardening and landscaping. Roy is survived by four stepsons, Troy Rowell and wife Darcie of Paris, Vernon Rowell, Jr. Bangor, Gary Rowell and wife Sherri of Cornville, Terry Rowell of St. Albans; stepdaughter, Tammi Field and partner Mark Dow of Cornville; five nieces, Patsy Cromwell of Stafford Springs, Conn., Brenda Blaisdell and husband Melvin of Cornville, Linda Corson and husband Gary of Cornville, Lisa Baker and husband Roger of Newport, nephew, Michael Towle and wife Kathy of Skowhegan; grandchildren, Lindsay, Casey, Josh, Kayla, Sydney, and Camden; great-grandchildren, Jaden, Gage, Landi, and Malachi. He was predeceased by his wife and lifelong love Beatrice Mayhew and he continued to wear his wedding ring as a showing of his undying love for her until his passing; his parents, Leon and Mildred Towle; stepdaughter-in-law, Cheryl Rowell; three brothers, Everett Towle and wife Beatrice, Gerald Towle, and Kenneth Towle; and nephew-in-law, Galen Cromwell. The family would like to extend special thanks to hospice nurses, Sandra and Kacey, the town of Athens and the Victory Club. A Graveside Service will be held at Mt. Rest Cemetery in Athens with Pastor Jamie Simpson officiating. Arrangements under the direction and care of Dan & Scott's Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan, ME 04976.
