Description	:	Roy E. Ohman, 89, passed away on April 21, 2009, at Community Hospital of Anaconda. Roy was born April 13, 1920, the fifth child of Julia (Quist) and Paul Ohman in Rogers, N.D. He attended schools in Rogers and Hannaford, N.D. Roy married Doris Johnson of Cooperstown, N.D. in 1939, who he always referred to as his bride and the love of his life. He worked at the... Read More	Roy E. Ohman, 89, passed away on April 21, 2009, at Community Hospital of Anaconda. Roy was born April 13, 1920, the fifth child of Julia (Quist) and Paul Ohman in Rogers, N.D. He attended schools in Rogers and Hannaford, N.D. Roy married Doris Johnson of Cooperstown, N.D. in 1939, who he always referred to as his bride and the love of his life. Roy and Doris were blessed with two sons, Jerome of Denair, Calif., and Clint of Helena. Roy worked at a variety of jobs. His attitude was to provide for his family, whatever the job. He worked at the BA & P Railroad in Butte and as a meat-market manager. He also was the owner and operator of grocery stores and The West Fargo Hotel and Café in West Fargo, N.D. He worked as a carpenter for the A.C.M.C. and finalized his career at the Anaconda Post office, from which he retired after 27 years of service. Roy enjoyed golfing, camping and traveling; especially to Arizona, Nevada, California, and Helena, where his sons and family lived. Roy served in the Army in World War II, in the European Theater, where he took part in the Battle of the Bulge. He received three battle stars and was proud to have served his country. He belonged to the American Legion for 64 years and was proud to be a 54-year member of the B.P.O.E.; he also belonged to the Acacia Lodge #33; and was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. He was active in the Anaconda Country Club and other organizations until his health curtailed his participation. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Doris; sons, Jerome (Sandy) of Denair, Calif., Clint of Helena; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Gerald (Donna) Ohman of Kennewick, Wash.; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Nielson of Jamestown, N.D., Adeline Rise of El Paso, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William, Raymond, John, Sidney, and Chuck; and sister-in-laws, Kathryn Hareland and Marion Moe. Memorials in Roy's honor are suggested to the Shriners' Hospital, The Ronald McDonald House or the donor's choice. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, April 25, at 11 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Anaconda. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place Monday, April 27, at 11 a.m. in the Montana State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Harrison with military honors. Services are under the care of KT Riddle Funeral Homes.
