Description	:	Roy Emory Argo was the son of Sybbie Ann(Houk)and Ernest Argo. He was born on June 11, 1910, in Tindall, Mo., and passed away at the Corydon Nursing and Rehab Center in Corydon on Sept 8, 2010, at the age of 100 years, 2 months, 28 days. He was raised most of his life around Pleasanton. At an early age he started working for area farmers. On Feb. 24, 1930, he married Hazel Marie Rockhold, and from this union three children were born. He is survived by his children, Virginia Peiffer, Clio, Donald Argo(Carol), Clio, and Janice Kay Gibson(Don)of Anniston, Ala; 28 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Betty Rockhold, Powell, Wyo.; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors. He was a member of the Clio Methodist Church. His parents; on son-in-law, Lloyd Peiffer; one granddaughter, Cheryl Snodgrass; one great grandson, Joshua Porter; three brothers and five sisters preceded him in death. With the exception of doing carpenter work with his father for a few years, he started doing what he loved most, which was farming the land. He and Hazel worked together for many years and made a great team. They lived around Washington after they were married until 1955 when they moved to the Lineville-Clio area. They celebrated 66 years of marriage before Roy lost the love of his life in 1996. Roy and Hazel did a lot of traveling to Belgium two times to visit their daughter and her husband and touring many countries. He grew tired of traveling and went back into farming. He continued to farm until he was in his mid 90s. In later years, once a year, they took what was called "family vacations" with their three kids and grandchildren. Roy always worked hard, was a thrifty and good farmer, diligently planting his fields and waiting for the good Lord to send the rain for his crops and enjoyed much success for his labors. He lived a very good life and when the Good Lord greeted him, I'm sure He said "A job well done, Roy". Funeral services were held Sept 11 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel, in Lineville with Pastor Leroy Perkins and Max Carmichael officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville. The family requests memorial contributions to a Hospice organization of the donor's choice in lieu of flowers.
