Read More	Corydon Times Republican August 8, 1963 Roy Ernest Mace was born February 18, 1893 in Wayne county, Iowa, and departed this life suddenly Saturday morning, July 27, 1963 at his home in Allerton at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 9 days. He was the first son of R.A. and Minnie Mace. He joined the Methodist church as a young man and was a faithful member throughout his life. He was united in marriage to Isal Brees in 1914. To this union two children were born, Marvin of Allerton and Norma Bennett of Grundy Center Ia. Roy was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and the community. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Arnold. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Isal, the two children, eight grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, four sisters and two brothers, Lizzie Shriver, Mary Duden and Lee, All of Allerton, Bertha Johnson of Gilmore City, Ia, Clara Schmidt of LaPine, Ore and Kenneth of Nyssa, Ore. And many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held July 31 at 2pm at the Randolph Funeral home in Allerton with the Rev. Howard Ball officiating. Burial was in the Allerton cemetery. Pianist was Mrs. Harold Hamm. Lynn Ball sang appropriate songs. Pallbearers were Keith Thomson, Karon Breese, Merle Levis, James Sears, Ralph Vandall and Daryl Moore.
