Description	:	OBITUARY: Roy H. Eckerson. Roy H. Eckerson, the son of Fred and Emma Titman Eckerson, was born at Kimball, Nebraska on October 10, 1893. His death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on December 14, 1979 at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 4 days. As a small child he came to Hamilton County with his parents. He received his education in the public schools of this vicinity and a short course in agriculture at the University of Nebraska. Eckerson, the son of Fred and Emma Titman Eckerson, was born at Kimball, Nebraska on October 10, 1893. His death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on December 14, 1979 at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 4 days. As a small child he came to Hamilton County with his parents. He received his education in the public schools of this vicinity and a short course in agriculture at the University of Nebraska. In his younger days he enjoyed a good reputation and record as an amateur and later professional fighter, state wide. On December 17, 1919 he was united in marriage to Mamie Bozell at Aurora. They farmed for several years in the Prairie Gem neighborhood and in 1940 they moved to a farm in Monroe Precinct. In 1962 they retired from the farm and moved into Aurora, where they were residing at the time of his wife’s death on September 20, 1968. He has continued to make his home in Aurora. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Ardyce Eckerson and his parents. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Mrs. Verla Lantzer of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mrs. Arlene Salmon of Aurora and Mrs. Doris Jones of Lincoln; his twin brother, Ray Eckerson and a sister Mrs. Sadie Lewis of Aurora; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and close friends. Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, December 16, 1979 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.
