He died at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. He attended Moffett School in Hamilton Township of Decatur County, Iowa, graduating from the eighth grade. They lived on a farm in Decatur County before moving into Leon in 1974. They had four children, Kristin, Keith, Kenny, and Kevin. Roy enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and attending the grandchildren's school activities. Preceding him in death were his parents; parents-in-law, Bert and Alta Poush; daughter-in-law, Mary Lee Hill; and sister and brother-in-law, Twyla and Joseph Horney. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Clella Hill of Leon; children, Kristin Hill of Leon, Keith Hill of Osceola, Iowa, Kenny Hill of Portland, Oregon, and Kevin and Melody Hill of Wayne, Nebraska; grandchildren, Tracy Spraque of Mulina, Oregon, Jerome & Leslie Hill of Perry, Iowa, Jamie Netherton of Canby, Oregon, Molly Hill of Marina, California, and Jesse & Tabitha Hill of Palmyra, Nebraska; great grandchildren, Jay Sprague, Jessee Sprague, and Victoria Sprague, all of Oregon, Madyson Hill, Derik Hill, and Daniel Hill, all of Perry, Iowa, Seth Netherton and Madelynn Netherton, both of Canby, Oregon, and Reese Hill of Palmyra, Nebraska; sister, Hyla Hill of Leon; nieces and nephew; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Slade - O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016, with Pastor Dale Short officiating. Burial will be in the Hamilton Cemetery, Pleasanton, Iowa.
