Oscar Creech who was assisted by Dr. Morton of Omaha and Rev. King of Platte Center. The male quartette of which Mr. Williamson was a member sang, Raymond Hosford singing with the group. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery. Roy Mansfield Williamson, son of S. Z. and Mary Williamson, was born May 15, 1890, and passed away in the Albion hospital, July 6th, 1933, aged 43 years, one month and 21 days. Mr. Williamson spent his entire life on the farm where he was born. When he came to manhood he engaged in farming with his father obtaining possession of the farm when the elder Mr. Williamson passed away. On the day when the fatal injuries were incurred, Roy, as he was familiarly called, with Mr. Creech was going to a field on the back side of the place to cultivate corn. They had not yet reached the field and Mr. Williamson was going down the side of a hill into the head of a canyon when the accident happened which was to prove fatal. When Mr. Williamson was a young man he was converted under the ministry of Dr. George L. White who came to Albion with one of the Baptist chapel cars, and united with the Albion Baptist church of which he remained a faithful member until the end. Roy was faithful in all his church relations, having been honored with many positions of trust, among which were the following: financial secretary, superintendent of the Sunday school, president of the Young People’s society and at the time of his passing was a deacon, a trustee president of the Brotherhood class of the Sunday school and member of the church choir and male quartette. He was a unique character, utterly unselfish and always ready to pour oil on the troubled waters when necessary. His place in the church can be filled only as the Lord shall raise up his successor. On November 26, 1914, Mr. Williamson was united in marriage to Miss Ruby A. Stoakes of Albion. To this union were born three children, Margaret Mary, 16; Emory Stoakes, 11; and Duane Adrian, 7, all of whom with the wife and mother survive him. Besides the immediate family he is survived by one sister Edna, of Los Angeles, California; one half-brother, William A. Williamson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Williamson lived an exemplary life. He was a good citizen, a good neighbor, and will leave a vacant place in his home, his church and his community which none can fill.
