He grew to manhood there and graduated from the Bruce High School. He was united in marriage to Bernice Foster on June 15, 1941 at Hendricks, MN. Borstad SERVICES Thursday, April 2, 1987 – 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Estelline, South Dakota INTERMENT Hillcrest Cemetery – Estelline, South Dakota OBITUARY Roy Mayo Borstad was born on October 8, 1912 at Bruce SD, to Chris and Lydia (Sedig) Borstad. He grew to manhood there and graduated from the Bruce High School. He was united in marriage to Bernice Foster on June 15, 1941 at Hendricks, MN. They lived in Sioux Falls where he worked for John Morrell Meat Packing Company. In 1946 they moved to Estelline and worked for the City of Estelline. He later worked for the Estelline Community Oil for several years, retiring in 1971 because of ill health. He passed away at the Brookings Hospital on Sunday afternoon, March 29, 1987, reaching the age of 74 years, five months and 21 days. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Estelline, Masonic Lodge, Khurum Lodge No. 96 of Estelline and the Estelline Senior Citizens. Roy is survived by his wife, Bernice of Estelline, SD; two daughters, (Janis) Mrs. Lyle Lindberg of Mounds View, MN. And (Linda) Mrs. Gerry Hoffelt of Brookings, SD; one son, Ron Borstad of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters, (Eileen) Mrs. Ken Reinertson of Hanford, CA. and (Pauline) Mrs. Charles Smith of San Antonio, TX. Also survived by seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Chester. Geise Funeral Chapels
