Read More	The Renwick Times Renwick, Iowa June 29, 1944 Roy Gillespie, 62, Died Early Monday Morning, Funeral Held Yesterday R. M. Gillespie passed away early Monday morning, June 26, at his home in Boone Township, northeast of Renwick. Although he had been in declining health for the past seven years, his sudden death came as a shock to his family and friends. Roy Mortimer Gillespie was born the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Gillespie on October 4, 1881, in Boone Township, on the farm where he spent his entire life. He was 62 years, 8 months and 22 days old at the time of his death. On October 30, 1901, he was united in marriage with Edna A. Long. Three children were born to this union, Marvyl, Gayle and Maxine. His father and mother and two brothers, Archie Iston and Harley Ray, and one Sister, Estella Gay, preceded him in death. His patient suffering, his thoughtfulness and consideration of others, his generosity and his great love for his family and friends won for him a place in the hearts of many. He was ever a kind and loving husband and father. He leaves to grieve his passing his wife, three daughters, Mrs. N. R. Yarbrough of Renwick, Mrs. Phil Beckerdite and Mrs. Robert Whyte of Palos Heights, Illinois, also six grandchildren, Beverly, Roger and Paul Yarbrough, Robert O'Rourke, Gary Basler and Sandra Whyte. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home and at 3:30 at the Methodist church with Rev. Paul W. Neal preaching the sermon. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Donald McGowan and Mrs. Bruce Middleton with C. A. Richardson at the piano. Pallbearers were S. A. Palmer, J. E. Janes, Alvin Engstrom, Evertt Nelson, Alfred Price and L. W. Fleming. Burial was made in Elmwood cemetery.
