Description	:	The body of Roy Freude of Hastings was buried in the Fairmont cemetery Monday, November 5th. He was fifteen years of age. His death was caused by an abcess on the base of his brain, caused by the kick of a horse. The boy's parents and other relatives accompanied the body. ALSO: The following has been contributed by Find a Grave member Peggy Bargen Duey: Roy Otto Freude, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. O.W. Freude, was born in South Omaha October 23, 1902, and died in Hastings, Nebraska, November 4, 1917, aged 15 years and 11 days. He came with his parents when just a baby to Saline county (sic), where they lived for two years, when they moved to Oak, and later to this place, where he has since resided, three miles west of Angus. He was injured by a kick from a horse the 18th of October, and was taken to the hospital at Hastings at once, where an operation was performed on the skull with the hope his life might be saved. He only regained consciousness for a few hours. He had just entered the Nelson High School and was a very bright boy. His Class attended the funeral in a body, it being held at the Ox Bow church (sic) Monday at 11 o'clock conducted by Rev. W.W. Hull of the Methodist church at Nelson, and burial was made in the Fairmont cemetery in the family lot. He leaves besides his parents, one sister and three brothers, all younger than himself.
