Description	:	Roy Porter was born near Valparaiso on a farm January 20, 1903 and died on July 13 in a Lincoln hospital at the age of 13 years 5 months and 23 days. He was the only child of Cyrus Porter whose wife died when Roy was only 7 months old making a great care for the father but the greater care the closer he drew to the child. Roy lived at several different places until about 5 years of age he was taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Keck where he remained until his death.... Read More	Roy Porter was born near Valparaiso on a farm January 20, 1903 and died on July 13 in a Lincoln hospital at the age of 13 years 5 months and 23 days. He was the only child of Cyrus Porter whose wife died when Roy was only 7 months old making a great care for the father but the greater care the closer he drew to the child. Roy lived at several different places until about 5 years of age he was taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Keck where he remained until his death. These people learned to love him and became very much attached to him and it was very hard for them to give him up. He was always contented where ever he was and never complained of his ailments. He was quiet and kind to all and with this disposition he was loved by all. He will be greatly missed by his father although he has one brother and six sisters living to help comfort and cheer in this sad time of his life. He was a member of the Messenger Boy's class at the Christian Bible school. He was a splendid singer and was always a great help in the special programs gotten up at the church.
