Description	:	"WYNOT -- Funeral services were held here Monday afternoon for Roy Chamberlain, Cedar county resident for over 66 years, who died at the Yankton hospital Saturday evening after several years of ill health. Mr. Chamberlain was taken to the hospital about two weeks ago. Rev. F. A. Jackson officiated at the services in the Methodist church. Pall bearers were John Goodwin, Merritt Smith, E. T. Arndt, G. A. Had he lived until Wednesday of this week he would have been 68 years of age. When about six months old, he came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chamberlain, to Cedar county, settling near St James. It was as a youth he began digging wells, a business he followed for 46 years. During his youth he also operated a threshing machine for over 20 years. In September 1941 he retired from active work owing to ill health. He had drilled between 600 and 700 wells. Mr. Chamberlain and Miss Lula Clausen were married at Hartington by Judge Plumleigh June 3, 1899. He was the father of seven children, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Elsie Coffey of Jamestown, La., Alonza, Stanley and Mrs. Letha Francisco of Tacoma, Wash., Raymond in Oregon and Francis and Mrs. Dorothy Maywood in Nebraska. Also, one brother, Jess Chamberlain of Bloomfield, and one sister, Mrs. Ida Wherry of Yankton, survive." Cedar County News (Hartington, Nebraska), February 25, 1943
