Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing and hunting for mushrooms.Surviving are his wife, Alice; three sons, Roy (Carrie) Bennett Jr., Carl "Ed" Bennett and Albert (Sarah) Bennett, all of Ottumwa; a daughter, Lori Bennett of Ottumwa; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob, Jazzmyn, Christopher, Hanna, Jocelynn and Caleb; and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth; two sisters, Edith Maxine Songer and Alice (Charles) Eaton, both of Ottumwa; and two brothers, James Sellwood and Maley (Mary) Sellwood, both of Ottumwa.He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John Bennett; two sisters, Ollie Lanigan and Mabel Songer; and a brother, Charles "Bucky" Sellwood.Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ottumwa Baptist Temple; Pastor Randy Miller officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery with military services conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 p.m.Memorials may be made to Ottumwa Baptist Temple.
